Episode 20: Battle Lines

Armed with the truth about JD, Russ mounts a daring escape to different minds the same world is heaven and hell, JD wanted him to help control his flock ... the more that believed his story the more real it became, JD deluded himself it to believing he was chosen, that made him dangerous ... no one else listed to Luther about the satellite, why would they, JD's story gave them hope of salvation ... he could not resist trying to save Abby, she screams ... they started to run, they both new what would happen if they got caught ... the horseman, catching up, the rifle aimed at Luther ... Luther falls, vital instincts kick in, the flare, he was hoping to loosen JD's strangle hold on his flock ... the horseman goes down ... JD proclaimed it a battle between good and evil ... who was good and who was evil, that depends on your point of view

Episode 19: Devil Among Us

Russ discovers the sinister side of paradise with all JD's talk about faith, he had none for his followers ... after all faith that has to be enforced isn't faith .... Luther wanted his help to escape, he didn't think he could make it out there alone ... back to Edwards's hobby, astronomy, he saw something that raised doubts, if God smoked technology, then why ... a satellite, still functioning ... this changes everything, Edward was punished for questioning JD ... the worse sin possible in New Eden, the satellite not only proved some technology survived, it proved JD was intolerant of anything threating his beliefs ... what it didn't prove, was that the man was a murder ... evidence of the burnt star chart, they are getting away ... JD had the faith of his follower, and he had the forbidden knowledge, he was now the enemy ... there is a demon among us, who will destroy everything we have built ... his name is Shoemaker

Episode 18: Polaroid

JD entices Russ with new evidence about what caused The Fall all sorts of theories about the fall, according to JD, God took away everything, people and technology, he wiped the slate clean, so we could start over ... their lives were similar, more time on the road, than with their families, took them for granted ... imagine seeing your pride and joy disintegrate right before your eyes, JD lost all hope, and hit rock bottom ... JD was lead to Eden to save the rest ... JD offered a simple explanation, faith in a higher power, a Polaroid shot of his son during The Fall ... JD offerd him to stay, but Luther told him that JD's story was a lie

Episode 17: Divine Intervention

New Eden's charismatic leader, JD, welcomes Russ the people most prepared for The Fall would of been the Amish, with their avoidance of electricity and all things modern ... the New Eden community wasn't Amish but they adopted their way of life ... New Eden was built around a strong faith, God looked down on mankind and he was angry ... we took our faith from him and put it into technology, a false idol ... so He raised up His mighty hand and He smoked it all ... JD believed The Fall was Judgment Day, he said God took the good and bad souls, but left the rest of us behind, for a second chance ... His horsemen protect us from the savages that cling to the old ways ... you heard the man, stealing and murder are a way of life out there now ... he realised from hearing his own words that the world outside was a dangerous place, made him wonder what the hell he was doing trying to cross the country ... he passed on the feast, he just wanted to go home, JD said they would pray for him, but first he had a question for him ... about The Fall, What do you believe Russ ... JD said it was divine intervention, and he had proof, he knows he should of left, but part of him wanted to believe that he had been saved

Episode 16: New Eden

Russ awakes in a bucolic Amish community, New Eden the power of faith, history shows that it can be an incredible unifying force, or the justification for unspeakable atrocities ... how you see faith depends on your point of view ... after being hunted by four horseman, this was not what he epected to see ... this could not be the place Edward was running from, could it ... people were so calm and content, working together ... Abby had a confidence, a certainty your rarely see in teenagers ... this is New Eden, you've been saved ... not everybody was asked to stay, she wondered what made him special ... frankly so did he, Abby wanted to see a picture of his family ... but he could not find his pack, he got pretty worked up, the thought of losing all he had ... some people you meet they have an aura about them, that was JD ... John Daggert, founder of New Eden .... when he spoke it was like, nothing else mattered but you ... Thank the Lord you are alright, he apoligised for his horseman, said they were very protective of New Eden, an understatement for sure ... according to JD, Edward took his back pack, how do you forgive a man that tries to destroy paradise ... Edward got away, JD did not blame me, he said his compassion was a virtue, that's why he was saved ... was ther something he was not seeing, about the New Eden

Intermission: Mobile News

Groundbreaking web drama Afterworld to get mobile game

Heard of Afterworld yet? You will. It's a "photo-realistic, post-apocalyptic animated series" that's being screened exclusively online, on MySpace.

Oh, and it cost $3 million to make and has all manner of Web 2.0 wizardry running around it (such as an interactive online map to follow the hero's progress, characters with their own MySpace blogs and so on).

Anyway, we're writing about it here because Afterworld is also getting its own spin-off mobile game, courtesy of Sony Pictures International � one of the financers of the series.

The company will be releasing the mobile game next year, although presumably that'll depend on how popular the first ten episodes of the web drama have been.

It's an interesting idea, though, creating mobile games based on Web 2.0 branded entertainment. Has any publisher signed up YouTube star lonelygirl15 yet? If not, they should.

And those Chinese Backstreet Boys, too.
